One thing we can all agree on - pretty sure at least.
These pictures tell the REAL REEL story.
We are delighted to make this magic happen.

August 3rd on our 28' Cruiser #2 with Capt Alberto, guests pulled in the Bluefin Tuna shown. Info I could find indicates this is a very unusual catch for Southern Waters ..

Peace love and fish tacos for everyone.
Lori

PS Edited to say Marlin were revived and successfully released after photos -

there were times when it was cool to slaughter whales
there were times when it was cool to slaughter turtles

killing fish for fun is in the same category

you'll probably try to tell me how this is actually good for the fish
right!

David K - 8-5-2022 at 10:56 AM

In all fairness, Harald... these are edible food items and none endangered, yet. I would rather see paying tourists and locals catching these than commercial fish factory ships from Asia and long-liners, stripping the Mexican waters.

David K - 8-5-2022 at 10:58 AM

PS: This is the Baja Fishing and Hunting forum! Not a place you would enjoy if you don't like either activity.

The big commercial fishing operations probably have the lowest relative greenhouse gas impact due to their economy of scale, if you measure GH gas output per ton of fish caught.

Think green!

bajatrailrider - 8-5-2022 at 03:29 PM

You marooons he posedt a picture of fishing you start up again. Think green yes send the donkey goat on green powered rocket . Yes i will fail how nice. You idiots really need see a doctor Im sure you Harold eat fish chicken and meat and beer. What gives?

SFandH - 8-5-2022 at 03:35 PM

Mmmmm, smoked fish, my favorite snackin' food.

SFandH - 8-5-2022 at 03:58 PM

Plenty of cochito in Bahia Concepcion. I eat it all the time during the winter. I prefer to buy the fillets. Fishing/cleaning is not for me even though I have a boat.

AKgringo - 8-5-2022 at 04:11 PM

I am a country boy that grew up hunting and fishing. During my years in Alaska, sport caught fish and wild game was a major part of my family's food supply. Having said that, I can understand Harald's point of view.

It has been over twenty years since I last hunted, and probably fifteen since I went fishing. I will probably go fishing again, but it will be catch and release, or keep what I can eat or share while it is fresh.

If I ever hunt again, it will be with a telephoto lens. At this point in my life, it bothers me to pull the trigger on a critter.

This is just a personal thing, I am not against others who takes part in the things that have left me with a lot of great memories.

I am glad there are people like CaboMagic that can guide them to those memories!

TMW - 8-5-2022 at 04:45 PM

Like you AK I was raised on a farm where hunting rabbits, squirrels and quail was normal. We shot our own hogs, steers and cleaned chickens. Everything was food for the table. I've eaten groundhogs, raccoons and rattlesnakes.

I have not shot any animal in the last 60 years. I've only been deep sea fishing once and didn't get anything. I do like to surf fish and I think there is nothing better tasting than fresh caught fish. Well maybe a really good steak would be on the same list.

BajaBlanca - 8-6-2022 at 12:32 AM

I love those memories being made! Kids need to be in touch with nature. Great photos, Lori!

As an aside: Les went fishing (2nd time) in the Med and for $250 caught zippo. nada. niente. not one pez. The first time, he caught some beauties and we are still eating the fillets he brought home. Yum

I am still "normal" - I am just more sensitive than most. Your grandkids do understand though.

I love eating fish.

I am opposed to killing fish for fun

I am opposed to janking them out of their environment for "fun".
Imagine being pulled out of the atmosphere by aliens
gasping for air
just to be part of alien selfies
then they'll throw you back
"He'll be just fine" they tell each other
right

I guess, you won't understand
that is OK
your grandpa could not understand why women wanted to vote
your dad did not get it why blacks wanted to go to school
just like them, you are a tad behind

CaboMagic - 8-6-2022 at 04:50 PM

My/our thanks for the kind comments.

And a hearty "Oh well" to the bah-humbuggers - wishing you a great everything nevertheless.

Many fine meals were enjoyed, and will be enjoyed by our guests. They have made memories to last their lifetimes, and then some passing on the stories generation to generation.

Always best wishes and fishes, Lori
