Hauling down motorcycles question:
I'm bring down my toyhauler trailer. I've brought it down numerous times. But this time, I might be hauling 2-3 motorcycles in the back for some
friends. They plan to pre-run the Baja race course. I'll have all the proper paperwork: titles, registration, etc..but they, the bike owners, won't be
with me. Is that a problem? Truck and trailer will be in my name with all proper paperwork, but the bikes will be in different names. Thanks for your
time amigos!

Have a notarized letter from the registered owner(s) giving you authorization to act as their agent and transport the motor for them. Wouldn't hurt to
include race info in the letter.
I've done this a couple times in the past and never had an issue with just having the registration but that's been a few years ago.

It was quite a few years ago that I towed a boat into Baja that was in my father's name. I had the boat and trailer registrations with me,
and a notarized statement from him stating that I had his permission to do so.
I don't think things have changed, but I am sure that I would have had problems without the notarized and stamped permission document. I would insist
on your friends providing you with one for each bike!
My information is old, so keep checking for a current report, and have a great trip! By the way, when I towed my dad's boat down, I crossed over to
the mainland on a ferry and had no problems anywhere along the way.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

As an aside you might want to check to see if proof of Mexican insurance is required for the bikes. Even if off-road, the government may want POI.
After all, it is Meh-he-co!
Two dirt roads diverged in Baja and I, I took the one less graveled by......

In 20 years of crossing with motos, trailers and other vehicles I've never been asked for insurance, only registration.
Guess there could always be a first.

I've never heard anything about needing a title/Certificate of Ownership to enter Baja.
I have only been asked for current registration on all dirtbikes and trailers. 100% of instances, the inspection included VIN matching.
A foolish practice to keep the title in the vehicle, whether in the USA or in Mexico. If a car thief or burglar gets hold of it, or you are carjacked,
or if the police extort you for the vehicle, the ownership could be changed.
Caveat: I can't say with 100% certainty that a title is not needed, so you might research for an official source.
An original registration document is required. A photocopy is not valid to enter Baja. Despite the statement on the California registration that a
photocopy is as good as the original.
