Guerro Auto shops?

I'm needing to fix a seal on a suburban, it leaks constantly, isn't much but always leaks. I've repaired the 2 easy potential leaks and the pros say the transmission has to come out to get to the last seal.
Has anyone personally had a transmission removed and replaced And had long-term success? It'll save me a few hundred bucks to do it in Guerrero, but is "cheaper " worth it? Thanks and Happy New Year!

Good luck with that! You mean Guerrero Negro in Baja California Sur or the Mexican state of Guerrero?

My dad bought a 4WD Chevy Suburban (new) in 1971... He loved all the room it had... but it was a mechanical disaster and Chevy would not honor the warrantee. He got a Ford wagon in '73 and that car never stopped going, all over NW Mexico, even to Loreto before the highway was built for nearly 200 of the miles. It lasted longer than he did, it was his last of many autos.

You are referring to the rear crankshaft seal on a Chevy V8? The seal itself is inexpensive, and automotive labor is cheap here. Not a huge deal, but yes, the transmission needs to be removed to get access.

As long as you are in there, may as well do the front main seal in the trans as well.
