Surfers missing along northern Pacific coast area (?)

Questions:
1) Were they familiar with the area?
2) Did they have a flexible schedule?
3) Did they have any contact while in Mexico prior?
That area is fairly well traveled, if they had a mechanical issue, someone would have probably helped them out within a day I'm sure. Haven't been
there in close to 10 years though, so no idea what its like anymore. Granted I stopped going to that area after someone going through my campsite at
night.
In that pre-Google Earth and social media epoch, The Code was adhered to. It was based on a simple verity: if a locale had been transformational for
you, and you had put the hard yards in to get there and to learn it, to know it, why in god�s name would you broadcast the news, thus ruining the
future experience not only for yourself, but for future adventurers?

American citizen . They were due to book into an Airbnb in Rosarito after there camping weekend but they did not show up. Callum is a type one

According to Debra Robinson, they did not have a flexible schedule. Says work commitments were missed on Monday this week, etc:
"They had an Airbnb booked in Rosarito that they did not book into. Callum had work commitments that he has missed which is very out of character."

OK yes, missing work and being diabetic, that's not a great scenario. Surprised there isn't anyone else coming through the woodwork who may have been
in the area this weekend. Wife was just reading through the TB post as well.

Son tres los turistas desaparecidos en Ensenada; hay una mujer detenida
Tres surfistas extranjeros que estaban de viaje por Baja California fueron reportados como desaparecidos, luego de que se comunicaran por última
ocasión el sábado 27 de abril por la mañana con sus conocidos en Estados Unidos. Hay una persona detenida, porque traía un celular de uno de los
desaparecidos además de ser sorprendida en posesión de más de media libra de cristal.
Tras el reporte de familiares, amigos y la Embajada de Estados Unidos, Seguridad Pública confirmó que se tienen en calidad de desaparecidos a Jake
Robinson de 30 años de edad de origen Australuano, Carter Rhoad de 30 años de edad, de origen estadounidense y Callum Robinsons de 30 años de edad,
