Wondering if there are any recent recommendations. Ive seen some older posts but things do change. Were talking implants and bridgework.

I am going to re-post a link to a thread that ran a couple of years ago. I still recommend Dra Patricia Camon Sanchez, in fact I plan on heading down there soon to have more repairs done!

To be honest, Dr. Clavel is mentioned, we went to her this past May and I was not impressed with her work:

"Yxchel Clavel on Durango off Allende speaks English and has a very modern office.
Speaks English, takes credit cards, etc."

mtnpop - 10-6-2019 at 12:24 PM

We have used Yxchel for several years and are very satisfied. Last spring a crown was $5k peso cleaning is $500 peso as I remember. Several of us from Mulege go to her about once a year. unless there is another problem. I think she also teaches at the University in LaPaz .
Full service office , implants, root canals or what ever you need.
If you need a number or email let me know.

Weird, I know...many went and were happy, I was not impressed. She did not seem gentle enough? I think I have been spoiled by my TJ dentist! He has angel hands is what I always say about him.

Also, she was happy to accept my credit card for payment, rather than either of us having to deal with a pile of cash. There were no extra bank fees added to the transaction.

Bumping this up to the top...

I'm trying to reach Patricia Camón Sánchez listed above. I have not gotten an answer at the phone # listed. Does anyone have any recent info on her or another number?

Thanks

I also need dental work, so I just sent an E-mail to the address I have, and if she sends a reply I will ask if it is ok to give it and any other phone number to you.

I use:
Dr. Octavio Maciel Vargas
612 124 6400
612 151 4972

My wife had him do an implant, $1700 US
She is very happy with it.

I had a bridge instead of an implant.
Good work.

The phone number for Dra Patricia Camon Sanchez is correct.

612 124 2224 - I just talked to the office yesterday.

Office hours are about 9am - 1pm and 4pm -7pm, most days. There are also Saturday morning hours.

They try to keep most Thursday's appointment free so may be closed on Thursday. If it is a busy week, Thursday's will also be open and available.

You may need to add +52 from some cell phone carriers.
As in : +52 612 124 2224

Dra Pati speaks perfect English.
Her son, Andre, speaks perfect English. He is the oral surgeon for implants.
An associate, Dra Carla Fonseca, root canal specialist, speaks English.
Mari, the receptionist/assistant, speaks some English. If you can not communicate with her, someone else will take the call.

The office was closed for three weeks from Jan 10 - Jan 30, 2024 for vacation. Maybe you tried to reach them during that period...?

I used Ixchel 10 years ago for a crown and great lady and wonderful dentist. This month I went back as I had to get a crown replaced. Three appointments, no pain from removal of decay from under the old crown, molds taken, and new crown. Fair pricing and modern office with great service. Put the crown on, and she said it was good to go as soon as I left due to modern light sensitive adhesive. She had my old records and Xrays from my US dentist. Can't compliment her enough.

pacificobob - 3-17-2024 at 12:24 PM

Ixchel..... that's a lot of consonants.

"Ixchel (pronounced Ishchel) was the Maya goddess of the moon, love, gestation, medicine, and the textile arts. She was the wife of the sun god Ak Kin, and was often represented accompanied by a rabbit; in hieroglyphics her name appears as Chak Chel, meaning “large rainbow”. In the “Chilam Balam,” a collection of books that tells about the history of the Maya civilization, her name appears as Ixchel, which means “rainbow woman.”
